What is HALT testing?
HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Test) testing is an aggressive process performed during the design stage. The HALT test is designed to find all possible failure modes and quickly identify product weaknesses and expand design margins inside a controlled test chamber.
During HALT testing, a variety of stresses including environmental testing are used to identify weak links in the design and fabrication processes of a product.
These include Omni axial (6 degree of freedom) random vibration, rapid temperature transitions, voltage, frequency margining and any other stresses that are appropriate.
